Milk Foam in a French Press
Posted on 19 Oct 2012Making milk foam at home is very easy and you don’t need a fancy, expensive espresso machine with sputtering steam wand. All you need is a microwave and a French press and you can be foaming yourself right in your kitchen and no counterspace wasted on an espresso maker (unless you really want one, then treat yo’self).
Yield | about 5-7 times volume cold milk used |
Equipment | french press, microwave |
Directions
- Remove the metal plunger from your french press
- Add the desired amount of milk to it and microwave until quite hot (if you wanna get picky you can stick a thermometer in there and look for ~70°C/160°F)
- Replace the plunger and vigourously aerate the hot milk with it by plunging it up and down. Let’s say 30 times.
- Remove and pour into coffee or espresso and enjoy.
(these were both for me)
